Welcome to the web site of the CSMA Farnborough group

The Civil Service Motoring Association is open to all current and former civil servants, plus other organisations that had their roots in the Civil Service, such as BT, the Post Office and many others".

Eligible persons are invited to contact CSMA HQ to join - see also your office notice board - there may be a CSMA representative in the office building/site. There are many benefits to being a member - "It pays to belong".

Our group is one of over 50 local groups spread about the UK mainland. Every CSMA member may visit a (normally local) group of their choice and partake in its activities, as well as those organised nationally. Please see also About the CSMA  for contact details of your local group.

As a group we currently publish a quarterly newsletter, 'The Farnborough Filter', which is distributed to interested people. Printed copies may be obtained from the editor, Ian Moir, though the preferred method is an email attachment - no printing and postage costs.

Club nights are held on the 3rd. Thursday of each month and, unless advised, are at St. Marks Hall, Guildford Road East, Farnborough, Hants, see map for directions, where a variety of activities are arranged. For details, see the program listing elsewhere on the site and notices on the Home page.

During the 'Summer Months', we normally add 'special events' and meet at a variety of venues for specific activities, as a change.

These have included recently: -

We also organise one motor sport event, a navigational rally called 'The Topographia' usually in the Autumn and involving using photographs to locate roadside information.

We also run skittles evenings at local hostelries during the year, plus an annual trip to the theatre, and a lunch at a local hostelry before Christmas.

If you are interested in any of these, please contact the secretary, or the organiser, where known, for details.

As the date approaches, further details of up-coming events will be added to the Home page.
